Restoration work and new timber structures are in full swing as the redevelopment works at Hastings Pier restore the historic site to its former glory.

The new building, constructed in cross-laminated timber (CLT), will house a visitors’ centre with large multi-purpose hall and an adjacent suite for educational use. The building will also act as a plinth or 360 degree vista-point for visitors to take in the stunning surrounding views of sea and city.

The Old Pavilion has been transformed into a bar and restaurant with restoration of the roof and domes combined with new flanking, circular pods housing additional services. This separation creates an undivided, fully-glazed, curving envelope from the original pavilion footprint.
