Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education

Following on from the Outline Planning Consent granted earlier this year, the developing proposals for the Deaf Academy rebuild were shared with the local community at a drop-in session held held in November at the neighbouring St. Nicholas Primary School.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with much enthusiasm for the arrival of the Academy to Hill Barton. The Redevelopment will provide almost 6000 m2 of internal floor space for the Academy, including a ‘Deaf High Street’ for external partner organisations, as well as a 120-bed Residential Care Housing complex. Reserved Matters Planning submission is targeted for January 2013.
