An unimaginable insurance claim…

Ross Russell, the client for Sliding House, was an actuary – someone who works in insurance to calculate risk. As such, there was no better client to both commission and build an experimental house with a 20-tonne sliding roof / wall enclosure.

What Ross couldn’t have imagined was the insurance claim put in by one of the house’s photographers. Having unwittingly parked his new Ducati on the recessed tracks and then adjusted the sliding canopy for the perfect shot, the photographer returned to find that the house had run over his bike.
